Great Natural Face Cleanser
May 28th, 2014 by Lior
I’ve been watching a lot of Beauty Vlogs lately on youtube, and inspired by this, I thought it would be fun to share with you one of my favourite beauty products which I’ve been using for several years now. I’m going to talk about one of the best facial cleansers I’ve come across, which is this one:
It’s by the company “Green People” and it’s called “Gentle Cleanse and Make-up remover”. (Link to this product on Amazon.co.uk) Now, I know it’s classed as a make-up remover as well as a cleanser, but I use it as a straight up cleanser, including on days when I don’t wear make-up (which for me is most days if I’m honest!), and I really do love it.
Why do I love it?
Beautiful Smell: First of all, it smells *amazing*. It’s florally sweet and feminine and just divine. It’s scented with Rose Geranium which I think is what gives it that classy smell that always makes me feel pampered.
It is gentle on the skin: I have quite sensitive skin, and Green People’s facial cleanser is really gentle, alcohol-free, and has never caused any irritation at all. Even my most sensitive area, the eyes, aren’t irritated by it. You can wipe it over your eyelids and it just feels cool and soothing.
It cleanses really well: The way I use it, I take a little round cotton wool pad, soak it in water, wring it out, and then put a small dab of the creamy cleanser on the pad, spreading it round, before applying it in circular movements to my face. Without going into too much detail to avoid gross TMI, you can literally *see* it does a good job by looking at the cotton wool after using it (it always amazes me!), and it leaves your skin feeling fresh, clean, smooth and soft. Since using it, I hardly ever get blemishes any more.
I like the natural ingredients:
As someone who has studied Naturopathy and Nutrition, I often look at the ingredient list of products and I’ve found that the ingredients list includes aloe vera, calendula, shea butter and jojoba which are all great natural ingredients for healthy skin. I also love that it’s free from SLS, parabens, propylene glycol, alcohol, harsh foaming agents, petrochemicals and other chemicals, and I like that it’s mostly made from organic ingredients. (The tube I have says that 91% of the contents are organic).
I like the texture: It’s creamy, silky and smooth, which I like.
It lasts a really long time: Which makes it good value for money. I think one 200ml bottle usually lasts me a good 6 months or so, if not longer.
It also works as a great make-up remover: Which isn’t that important for me since I don’t wear much make-up, but I know it will be a good bonus for other girls out there.

So yeah! I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a healthy-option, “green”, (91%) organic, natural facial cleanser. If you’d like to read some other people’s opinions on it, you can check out the reviews on the Amazon.co.uk product page that you can get to via this link. There are also quite a few reviews on the Green People website – here’s the link to that. I tried to see if you can get it on Amazon.com but couldn’t find it on there at the moment. It may pop up at some stage though, so here’s the link to Amazon.com for you just in case.
Best Smelling Hand Soap
May 25th, 2014 by Lior
Ok, so I know smell is a very subjective thing in terms of what a good smell is, but today I discovered what for me is one of the best smelling hand soaps I’ve ever smelled, and I wanted to share it with you!
The soap is called: “Rosewater Pure Natural Hand Soap” and it’s made by the brand Jason. The name sometimes varies since they occasionally change it when they alter the packaging, but it’s usually got “Rosewater” in the name.
(Link to product on Amazon.com : Link to product on Amazon.co.uk)
Why do I love it? I feel like it literally smells like the most beautifully smelling rose. It’s sweet, fresh, delicate and ladylike and just.. mmmm! heavenly!
Another reason I like this liquid hand soap is that it is made by a company that makes an effort to put good things in their products so that they will be better for your health and the environment. This handsoap for example doesn’t contain parabens and SLS, and isn’t tested on animals, which I think is great. And it cleans using natural antibacterials like grapefruit extract, and has natural moisturizing factors like wheat germ oil, which I also think is awesome.
The only minus is that the bottle it comes in isn’t as pretty as other bottles you can get. But you can always decant the liquid soap into a pretty soap dispenser. You can find some pretty kitchen or bathroom soap dispensers both on Amazon (.com or .co.uk) and lately Zazzle (.com or .co.uk) has also started making soap dispensers in a huge array of designs (I think currently it’s almost 50,000 different designs! And the number of designs is growing every day so it’s worth checking out if you’re on the look out for one.) Add the type of design you’re looking for in their search bar eg floral soap dispenser etc, to help you find exactly what you’re looking for. Below are some of my personal favorite Zazzle soap dispenser designs. You can click on the photos and it will take you to the corresponding product page on Zazzle:
Just wanted to share this with you! If you have any recommendations for other amazing smelling soaps, let me know in the comments below – I’d love to discover more great-smelling hand soaps. :)
Tangle Teezer Review
October 21st, 2013 by Lior
I don’t know if every girl experiences this, but for some time now I’ve noticed that when you have long hair and wear it down, you sometimes get a fine cloud of short squiggly hairs sticking up at all angles around your head (“whispies” / “halo”) – hairs that have probably been torn and broken from brushing. Personally, I like my hair healthy, smooth and squiggle-free and also there’s the point that the more hairs that break around the top of your head, the thinner your hair will be lower down if you want to grow it long.
Thanks to AnitaPeppers on Morguefile for use of this image.
So, a couple weeks ago I was looking online to find what solutions people had for gentle haircare that doesn’t result in hair breakage. (more…)
Cupcake toothpaste & other cool toothpastes
January 3rd, 2013 by Lior
The other day when I was at a store I found one of the most cool toothpaste flavors I’ve ever seen: cupcake toothpaste!
It’s made by a company called Accoutrements and when I saw the cute, pink toothpaste box with a happy smiling cupcake on the front my first thought was that I must share it with you guys! The taste has been described as “cake batter flavor” with a touch of vanilla which sounds pretty awesome to me! Click here to find it on Amazon.com and here to find it on Amazon.co.uk.
This all got me thinking what other cool toothpaste types are out there. Here’s what I found: (more…)

Gold glitter nail polish

A couple of weeks ago I saw this photo on pinterest and tracked it down to the blog fabfatale.com which is full of inspiring manicures!
Check out the links to have a look at the picture – it’s so pretty!
I ordered myself a bottle of Deborah Lippmann Nail Lacquer, Boom Boom Pow which arrived today, so today I had a go at recreating this look!
I’ve applied some nude / pink nail polish which I had at home (by OPI), followed by a coating of the Deborah Lippmann gold glitter polish and it came out looking really cute!
Thank you pinterest and fabfatale.com for providing an endless source of inspiration! :D

I remember when I was little I used to look at pretty nail art with absolute awe. I would wonder how these artistically talented ladies managed to draw such beautifully intricate patterns and designs on their nails and I silently resolved to one day find out how they do it so that I could learn how to make such gorgeous nail art myself.
Fast-forward years ahead and now I am writing this blog post on one of the secrets of pretty nail art: Nail stamping. (more…)
