A couple weeks ago I was browsing on facebook pages for stuff to share with you guys and I came across Breakfast for Dinner who just happened to be doing a giveaway that week for an adorable Hamilton Hamster plush toy. I really like helping out up-and-coming artists, designers and creators get the word out on their cute creations (and if I’m honest, a part of me also quite fancied winning a little Hamilton to add to my ever-growing plushie collection!) so I shared Breakfast for Dinner’s giveaway on our ohsogirly facebook page.

A little while later, after the giveaway had ended, I received this message from Breakfast for Dinner:

“OhSoGirly – thanks for the great share! ^_^ I would like to send you a runner up prize!!! email me your address for your gift”

I felt excited, surprised and all warm inside!

Whilst listening to music on Spotify I came across the music of Elizabeth Mitchell and ever since then I’ve had her songs in my head!

Elizabeth sings cute folk songs for children in a beautiful, sweet voice. Her music generally has a folksy, acoustic feel. I found her songs to be really uplifting and it’s so cute that she gets kids to sing along with some of her recorded songs! It really made me smile :)

I think these happy songs can be great for kids as well as for adults who enjoy reconnecting with the part of them that used to like kids songs when they were younger!

From a young age, I was introduced to comic books by my mother who passed on this tradition from her own childhood. It occurs to me that when it comes to comic books for girls, some people may find it difficult to know where to start, so I thought I’d add my two cents worth into the mix! Anyone who knows me well knows that of all the animals, amongst my favorites are cute birds (top of the list are the European robin, chickadee and blue tit!). I even have a product range I invented called Chirpy Chums. So when I saw some of these gorgeous fabric bird placemats on Zazzle I liked them straight away!

Sun, sea and surf has a definite appeal so perhaps it is no wonder that nautical products are pretty popular. No matter how far away you are from the seaside, one room in the house that is somewhat linked to the sea (albeit through very long pipes! :)) is the bathroom. I love cool concepts and I really have a thing for novelty gifts that look like other things. You know the type, iphones that look like cameras or 80s music cassette tapes, or clocks that look like giant floppy disks.
